Will Writing Options
Article added Tuesday 28th July 2009
When do you start the process of
will writing and who do you go to for will writing assistance and services?
The first and obvious choice for will writing is a solicitor. For most of us our first encounter with a solicitor is when we buy a house and we tend to stay with that solicitor throughout our lives. These days though much of the work associated with buying a property is almost wholly done remotely and you never actually walk into a solicitors office. The same thing in my opinion applies when looking into will writing and understandably the tendency is to search the web for will writing services.
You will find that there is quite a bit of independent advice and a few solicitor firms offering
will writing services on the web. Will drafters often appear as a service where a trained person, not usually a solicitor, will come to your house and start the will writing process. Part of any will writing service is to look at the areas that you must cover as well as identifying whether you should be seeking expert advice.
You can however, if time is pressing, consider buying one of the “off the shelf”
wills you do yourself or you can make a will through some of the will writing web sites like
www.onlinewill.co.uk. You can also get will writing advice from a number of organisations like
www.helptheaged.org.uk who offer a very helpful booklet on the subject that you can download.
